An ecolodge offers the deepest immersion you can seek to explore both nature and luxury. As awareness about sustainable hospitality is growing, more travelers are realizing sustainable options do not necessitate giving up any vacation desires. Choosing an ecolodge design, you are entering an experience within nature authentically, without the separation of making plans of a separate trip to “go see“ it.
At the Rainforest Inn, we are located in a sweet spot of the island, nearing proximity to beaches, the mountainous terrain, swimming holes, as well as cultural experiences in Puerto Rico’s urban heart. As for the wonders of El Yunque? You can step as far as our backyard.

Although we don’t fit within the “hippy” stereotype often associated with sustainable living, our property most definitely functions as a friendly force alongside our surrounding ecosystems. Our commitment to a sustainable mission does not equate to a sacrifice of modern comforts, a common misconception we have been able combat simply through the experience of staying at the Rainforest Inn.
To be authentically sustainable, we measure our efforts by values of respectful, unharmful, and balanced living among our environment and communities. This has little to do with an ‘image‘ you can anticipate entering an ecolodge, and much to do with the intention and connection with nature that is present at our inn. Not only is this being considerate of the plants and animals, our sustainable efforts extend to our humans too! You won’t have to worry about headaches with our eco-friendly options. Our saltwater pool is gentle on the skin without the harsh chemicals, and our natural solutions minimize any need for bug spray! At the Rainforest Inn, sustainability and ease go hand in hand.

We have private hot-water showers and two-person Jacuzzis in your villa, so no bathing outdoors here. If you’re looking to cool off outside, our saltwater pool or an afternoon lounge on the terrace during rainfall may suit you better. You’ll find that your household livelihood needs are still accessible upon our sustainable setup.
“Our Inn is a true eco-resort which shouldn’t have a pool with pumps, energy wasting heater and chemicals. We would prefer to spend that money on really nice linens and other amenities for our guests’ comfort.”
We have a tranquil room for massages and a Zen-like yoga room for peaceful relaxation, but we don’t have any rigid schedules or events dictating your activities. You’re free to move through your days however you please and we are here if you need any guidance!
Our private jungle trail leads to a hidden rainforest pool, to swim and see the deeper wonders of the island’s waters! If you are interested in meeting other nature lovers, every morning you will have the option to enjoy our homemade breakfast at the communal dining table! You are also welcome to opt for private dining to be served to you if you enjoy the quiet.
